Occupational therapy helps students with disabilities benefit from their educational program. Certified occupational therapist assistants (COTAs), focus on student performance in the area of hand writing skills, eating, self-care, social skills, and play/leisure skills. Co-op COTAs assist with the evaluation and treatment of individuals with injuries, cognitive impairments, psychosocial dysfunctions, mental illness, and development or learning disabilities within the school setting.
